Preschool Director since 2018

Joan comes to Our Savior's Lutheran Preschool with over 25 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. She was a preschool teacher for 7 years and then moved into the role of Preschool Director at Robert Lange Preschool in Mission Viejo in 1998. She brought the school to NAEYC accreditation and maintained that accreditation during her time there. Joan is an expert on NAEYC and volunteers her time to the organization as a Consulting Editor. She also works for the California Mentor Program and mentors other Preschool Directors in CA. She organizes and hosts the South Orange County Director Meetings at Saddleback College every other month and serves on the Saddleback College Child Development Advisory Board; a position she has held for over ten years.

 

In her spare time Joan loves to read, take long walks with her dog Regis and spend time visiting her children. She and her husband Eric have two children. A daughter Kristin who lives in San Diego and works with autistic children and their families and their son Adrian who lives in San Francisco and is a Marriage and Family Therapist.  Joan is thrilled to be at Our Savior's.

 

In 2020 Joan was given the ECE Professional of the year award. This is a peer nominated award through OCAEYC - the Orange County Education of Young Children.
